Drake Jewelry Thief Busted By Police and He Looks Like A Crackhead

PHOENIX (KPHO/KTVK) - Phoenix police have recovered $3 million in jewelry that was taken from a tour bus used by rapper Drake, and a suspect is in custody.

Suspect Travion Lamar King, 21, was arrested for trespassing on the ASU campus in Tempe early Wednesday. Police described him as a transient. Police believe King boarded the tour bus for Grammy Award-winning singer Drake Tuesday night between 10 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. while it was at Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix.

According to ASU police, King was found near Barretts Honors College with the briefcase containing the stolen jewelry. Police say he was also in possession of a Talking Stick Arena Resort credential.

Investigators identified King through surveillance footage, according to Sgt. Vince Lewis with the Phoenix Police Dept. Sgt. Lewis said King has done contract work for venues around the Valley in the past. King was booked into Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail on the trespassing charge until Phoenix police discovered his whereabouts at the jail.

He was then set to be re-booked into jail on new charges of theft. The tour bus was at the arena for the Drake and Future the Prince show.

Representatives for Drake did not immediately respond to requests for comment Wednesday. A representative for Future the Prince declined comment on the theft case. Drake has been co-headlining his "Summer Sixteen" concert tour with fellow rapper Future. Future the Prince is Drake's official DJ.
